In class today we began with a dance warm up, I don't find dance easy and I'm looking to improve my movement skills over the course, after this we read through a new script- Sleeping Beauty. I found it much better then the Cinderella script because there is a lot more humor and a wider range of characters with more lines, and personally I prefer the story line. The class seemed to enjoy it better and used a wider range of accents and more emotion into the lines, even on a first read through! I read the parts of the good fairy and Beauty for parts of it, I enjoyed both roles and put in maximum effort. Once we read through the script we talked about set and editing ideas, I think it would be cool to use a place I know to film a short clip for editing. I was really happy with the classes decision to do perform Sleeping Beauty and I'm looking forward to rehearsing it :)

Today in class, we began the class by forming a circle on the floor and talking about issues within the class, I found this useful and beneficial to the group and feel as if it has helped to resolve tension for everyone. After this discussion we all played some warm up games, I felt this helped to activate our minds and bodies ready for the class to start. We then watched Youtube clips on how to perform two new mime techniques, on top of the two techniques we already knew. We then used these techniques within group performances, I believe my group's finished performance was successful but could of been improved if we had of rehearsed more and I still find mime difficult to perform mime confidently. We gave each other feedback which helped to target areas for improvement. We arranged a class chart to track of our progess which I'm looking forward to seeing :)
